Well there are the beauty pageant answers (world peace, end world suffering, etc.), but I believe ambition should be at least semi-realistic as well as idealistic.
Besides, while it only takes one to break the peace, it would take us ALL to establish it.
I believe most people feel the gravity of such a question, and are intimidated into affording the formulation of the best answer possible, so we turn to the cliché answers that have drawn wide acceptance in the past.
I, too, would like to end suffering and establish world peace, but maybe the best way to do that is to start with yourself and your family.
With this thought in mind...
My ambition is to be the best person I can be, do no avoidable harm to others, and pass these principals on to my children in the hope that one day idealism will meet reality.
I guess you could say my ambition is to have character and self respect.

Generally, ambition gives me a nose bleed. I have very simple ambitions in life. For example, to take over the White House, establish contact with aliens from deep space, and to visit Timothy Leary in the Elysian Fields (Garfield is welcome, too).

well I'm in hospital at the moment, in the bed to my left there is a guy suffering from syphilis his treatment is a wire brush and dettol. his ambition in life is to end world poverty
in the bed on my right is a bloke suffering from venereal disease, his treatment is a wire brush and dettol too- his ambition in life is to make world peace....
I'm suffering from laryngitis , my treatment is a wire brush and dettol - my ambition in life is to get to the wire brush and dettol before those two dirty buggers!!!!
