Thanks for the help everyone. It was on an exam, and it was so random because there was no other question on Darwin (couldn't find it in the book either) I kinda thought it was B. Thanks again :)

B. That is the right answer, but it doesn't mean the answer is right.

A,B and D

And the aim implicit in the question: Darwin's theories do not aproach, mention, pertain to or have anything to do with the "meaning and purpose of humankind". Darwin's theories are an attempted description of the natural way that species evolved. You might as well ask what approach Copernicus' heliocentric system has to the meaning of life.

Darwin never used the term "survival of the fittest". In most readings of the term you statement "A" is tautological and the term "insures" is misleading.

Are you sitting an exam at the moment? Or did this question wake you from a sound sleep? The answer is b. In hell, where I live, we all know that "Inherent Dignity" is not actually a common trait in mankind, and therefor cannot be included in Darwin's theories.

b - Sounds like a politician talking - "man has an inherent dignity and value of his own" not a scientific mind like Charles Darwin.
