Yes, it's bad that we don't let them. It should only be for the terminally ill, and we may need some practice or waiting period in place so that we can be sure they really want to die, as well as ways to ensure that no one decides that they are "worth more dead than alive", but they should have a right to die to end a painful existence. You'd shoot a hopelessly suffering dog (or have the vet do it), so why would you let your mother suffer?

It is their life. They should be allowed to decide whether they want to remain in whatever disease/pain they are having or to have the possiblity to die with dignity.

I think as long as they are of sound mind they should be able to make that decision for them selves...I have watched a loved one go from strong and vibrant to weak and in pain constantly...I can not say that had he asked me to help him end his suffering I wouldn't have...As far as children, that's a parents domain...I could not watch my child suffer...but I am not sure I could make that decision either.

From a religious standpoint;no,that would be the same as suicide. From a medical standpoint;yes,if they are dying anyway and there's NO chance of them surviving..it's up to them whether they want to wait and run up the hospice bill or whether they want to "discharge"early.

Yes, I think so. If they do not want to suffer any more why should keep suffering by using drugs or other artificial stimuli to stay alive.

Yes, if a person is terminal and in pain, we should allow them the same peace and dignity we give our pets when they are suffering.
