Do you mean rolling? Yes. You only need to roll if you have just seeded for a new lawn.

Ruling? you mean Rolling. Its not bad for it no. I live in michigan and we have to repair lawns every year. I have never seen or heard of a lawn that was killed from it being rolled. But then again ive only done it if it needed to be done once a season. Usually at the begining of spring.

It doesn't hurt the lawn per say, it compacts it, making drainage and thatch levels an issue. Just make sure to aerate after and you should be in the clear.
