80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

there is no meaning just an underlining point....experiance..the pint of life is experiance....everything you learn and everything you know will either fade or change the only thing that wont change is your experiances and they weight heavy on your life as in example

take a child that was beaten at a very young age as the child grow the memories of what has happened will be forgotten
but the child will still be a sad...soul.. so as demostrated knowlage has no meaning, or permenate revelance ,
now to dive a little deeper into things what "life" is all things in life are nothing more than mere experiances as that the experiances you have shape the world around you even if you dont know it read some quatum theory and you'll see some pretty profound examples of how the human experiance has an impact on the world around us, and even if you read back into some philosphoy, this has been a arugment over the meaning of life for a while as in the personal sense of the meaning of life is stated above it's YOUR EXPERIANCE, THAT IS LIFE AND/OR THE MEANING OF,now how this ties into the world and everyone elese is that thier meaning of life is just another vector on your experiance/life,
meaning that some of their experiance will over lap with yours creating an world view. in example, i see the sky and it is blue you see the sky and it is blue now we have a shared experiance without ever having meet, this is how "reality" is defined/created, on a community or world scale,
now experiances dont always overlap like if i called the sky green, it would in my life be green and that is what my experiance , just think of some one who is colour blind, in thier reality the sky and the grass and everything elese is one or two colours, and it really is in thier reality but not your's an mine,......

.you know what this is a complex matter you should by a book and read and not look for a quick answer on here
cheers

How can a life have any meaning, until you live it? It will mean what you make of it.

42. :) Hopefully somebody gets that.

Anyway, this is too brod of a question. Are you talking about the meaning of life in general, or the meaning of life to a frog, or the meaning of life to you? There are tons of ways to look at it. You have to be more percice if you want a good answer.

Testing 1 2 3, testing, The meaning of life is where your heart takes you. It is the path that you lead, whether you choose good or you choose evil. You know in your heart which that is.

Your guess is as good as mine, but here's three options.

1) To grow, to reproduce, and to adapt.

2) Consume! Be silent! Die!

3) To ponder the meaning of life.

Since we all are a small part (a cell, if you will) of God and when we "die" here, we go back to God. The meaning is to (1) Love God (2) Love your neighbor as your self. And giving freely your spirit back to your Maker. Godloveya.
