velocity is in science, and vector is in math.
velocity- the rate of speed and direction with which something happens; rapidity of action or reaction.
vector-a quantity possessing both magnitude and direction, represented by an arrow.

Its a vector. The vector is an arrow the length of which represents the speed and the angle is the direction.

A vector is a quantity that has both magniyude and direction.
In science, velocity is a vector since it has both magnitude (speed) and a direction associated with it.

It combines direction (where it points)
and speed (how long is the vector)

Velocity does not have anything to do with direction...well it does not say anything about it anyway.
