No, because if you are clever you should know there is more to life than being rich.

It's interesting how many completely different definitions of clever people are using. No wonder there are so many different answers!
You have defined clever as getting a good job and being rich. So really the question you're asking is: "Is life much easier if you have a good, high-paying job?"
To which I would generally answer no. The reason some jobs pay more than others is specifically because they're NOT easy or enjoyable. If everyone wanted to haul garbage and everyone could perform brain surgery successfully, these jobs would not pay as much as they do. Thus, if you are clever enough to obtain such a position, you are almost certainly getting money to do something hard or unpleasant.
My definition of clever is a bit different - it has more to do with being inventive, skillful, and shrewd. As such, if living the 'easy life' was your goal, an inventive, fillful, and shrewd person would probably have less trouble doing so than someone who was dull, incompetent, and slow. So by my definition, the answer is a resounding yes... as long as living the 'easy life' is what you're after (many people LIKE challenges!).

If clever means intelligent, no, because what makes life difficult is not just the incapacity or difficulty of understanding things, but our emotional relationships with ourselves and others. If clever means social dexterity, the insight, skill and ability to manipulate situations for your benefit, then yes, to an extend, depending on your world view, the underlying principles on which you judge your own actions and intentions, and actions of others.
To be clever can be a curse, depending on how it is applied and what these abilities do to your ego. Few are happy when rejected, avoided or judged negatively, and as most people aren't clever, the majority can make life difficult for a bright star, setting a stage where conformism is more valued than exceptionality. Cleverness and sensitivity don't necessarily go hand in hand, but when it does, in an imperfect world full of ugliness, ignorance, open and suppressed hatred, confrontation and power struggles, a sensitive and bright mind feels powerless and abused, frustrated at the ineptness of the world, its baseness, so far remove from the lofty ideals of an envisioned utopia.
The next step is to retract into a realistic appreciation of life, storing the hope below a dose of negativity, finding a balance, taking things step by step, to become a political animal, working towards small victories, or else self destruct.

Its easier to get a good job if youre clever. But you can sometimes earn more as a construction worker and you dont need a degree for that. Being clever doesnt make it easier to make friends, find a lover, be good with money and all the other stuff life comprises. Plus if your smart, you can get disillusioned with your lot, the government, your partner etc far more easily than if your not smart, as they say, ignorance is bliss.
Oh yeah I forgot - men tend to run away very easily if they find out youre smart. There may be something in this dumb blonde thing after all!!lol

Not necessarily. I was much cleverer than my schoolmates when at Junior School and I also spoke the Queen's English with a rather posh accent (due to starting school in Malaya where my dad was in the army at the age of 4.) Unfortunately, I returned to the village where I was born in Yorkshire and everyone hated me...... I then moved to a small town in Yorkshire and everyone hated me and bullied me....
This left me rather sulky, unfriendly and lacking in confidence and it took me until my 30's to get over this so no good job or limitless wealth for me......
Still, I am happily married, reasonably well paid for the area I live in now, and have 3 cats who love me.... what more could I want from life. Oh, and although I am now pushing 50, I am still learning and enjoying the fact that I have the intelligence to question..... so it worked out okay in the end.

I think life is easiest for those who don't sweat the small stuff, this is something that makes a person clever in my opinion. A cleaver person won't let the world get them down. So yes I believe life is easier for the clever!

Like a friend of mine suggested and did not give permission for usage of, it depends how clever you are. If you're not smart enough, but you're not ignorant enough, you'll go through life worrying, but the smarter people have it figured out and the more ignorant have nothing to figure out. Also, being clever doesn't necessarily get you a good job.

Most definitely. But there isn't just one set way to do anything. There's multiple ways. People can have much easier lives by being positive, by being influencial, by being clever, yes, by being talented, by being strong, by being smart, Usually a person takes whatever their natural talent is an uses that to it's fullest in order to get as far as they will.

Assuredly not. The clever are usually relegated to lonelyness and are often murdered. Socrates was very clever, and he was killed. So was Jesus, if he existed.
The clever are often socially inept, and that becomes problematic when other people show their contempt for someone who makes themselves out to be better than the masses. Not that this is their intention, merely the result of being clever shows just how stupid most people really are, which doesn't make one alot of friends.

As ignorance is bliss, perhaps being intelligent is overrated. Clever people often make life harder for themselves!
However, if you are clever AND wise with it, (making good choices), your life will be easier. You will attract positivity.
