we have a 3 bedroom 2 full bath log cabin
a very nice sized living room and a large kitchen that looks right into the living room that is the way i wanted it

it seems when we have friends over and they all congregate in the kitchen so this way everyone still can see the game, race or movie on the TV

A modest family home. 2 bedrooms(one for me, one for my son) with a possible third option in a clean basement or attic. 1 living area, a kitchen you can turn around in or say cook a large meal, a dining room that could fit four to six people comfortably, a medium size backyard not on a busy street or corner lot, room to plant around the house, good neighborhood, good school district, garage. I live in a small "cozy" apartment and I pondered this dream house often.

I think 4 bedroom 2 bath is plenty, and one living room, maybe a sitting room, but not necessary. A nice kitchen IS necessary though.

what I'm in right now is too small
but I don't want a huge house either
I'd be more comfy with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths... 1 living area is enough, but I want a huge kitchen and a nice big porch with part of it enclosed
under 2000 sq ft please (I don't want to have to clean it)

That certainly is an individual preference. Some love small and cozy, others love large and spacious. I have definitely lived in both. My present ,and last home, is on 10 acres, with barn and out buildings. Our house is 2600 sq. feet., 4 bdrm. 2 1/2 baths, with two living room, ( one, in which, we turned into our office).

It's allot for just my husband and I, sometimes, but our kids and grand kids visit often, and have plenty of room to visit and enjoy. Plus, we have lots of animals, 4 cats, 3 large dogs, (that live inside with us) and 5 horses in the paddocks. With all the property to tend to, I do sometimes, wish I had gone with less house to care for, and more property to enjoy.

Now that we are , "empty nesters", we have allot more freedom to gad about and enjoy life. I much prefer being outdoors with my animals and gardens, and even having friends over, outdoors. I could easily live with much less space inside these days. But I do enjoy "Space", as it's much easier to clean, and doesn't feel as claustrophobic, or cluttered.

To each his own. I'm just glad to live in the country, and not worry about how the "Joneses" live, in accordance to my own life. I know I couldn't handle suburbia, no matter the size of my home.
