Okay, I'll start easy. I can do or say pretty much anything I like w/o the government coming to my door to execute me or torture my family. I can make the decision on who I want to vote for (or not vote at all!) and decide who I want to represent me. And if I do not like what my rep does, I can tell that rep exactly what I think about their actions. I can tell my government anything I want. I have the ability to do anything I want. I can be who and what I want to be and I do not have to ask anyone's permission.
Do you think America is not a free country? Why NOT?

sure and no. in assessment to worldwide places with the two no/little or no government like somalia and afghanistan, it might look as though the U. S. had much less freedom because of the fact we've extra regulations. yet out financial opportunities provide us freedom that maximum in those failed states don't have. in comparison to totalitarian governments like North Korea, we've heavily extra freedom in our on a daily basis lives, yet we are nevertheless chained to the social settlement that each democratic government has with this is human beings. ultimately, the question of no count if or not we are unfastened is in line with so lots extra complicated aspects than only how lots it expenses to stay in the U.S.

IT IS NOT A FREE COUNTRY !
Taxes steal freedom, and is in fact a type of slavery without chains ! We work very long hours to achieve anything anymore ! We have federal reserve notes, and not really money. We NEVER own property !! and if you think you do, dont pay your taxes, or wait til eminent domain steals it. WE DO NOT VOTE< I could point other reasons out, but these are the MAIN thieves.

OUR young children go to school TO long with TEACHERS that want CONTROL instead of educating them ! THEY ARREST 6 YR OLDS and take them out of schools, and other kids without reading them their MIRANDA RIGHTS and without CONTACTING PARENTS !!!

** For those of you who are NOT aware of this,,a NEW LAW was passed about desecrating or burning the flag *** it is NOT LEGAL..
for the foreigners that want to do this,,Please Wrap Yourself In It FIRST. Thank you.

I feel that I am free as a citizen of the US. There are some limitations, like paying taxes. Technically, I have the freedom of choice there. I can refuse to pay but would probably end up in jail. But then, if I need a place to sleep and food to eat, I can get it in jail.
I tend to look at my glass as full to overflowing.

Its as free as humans can make it and still mantain a decent quality of life for most, if not all. The problem is not is it a free country, but how many FREEBIES can we continue to handout and not go broke. i.e. entitlements.

The USA is among the top countries to make freedom possible, but...

You're only as free as your mind allows and your actions reflect.

Absolutely. Nowhere on God's green earth can you so openly defile the President of the United States, burn her flag, and assemble with violent and inflammatory intent without consequence or prosecution than in the US.

as of now, yes. many laws are in the pipes, especially at local and state levels, to change that. no smoking in bars or outdoors, mayors wanting cameras in all business and on every street corner, these are only 2 examples, but they are extremely annoying

Of course I do. If it weren't, you would be able to ask that question without being taken away by the secret police to be tortured and never heard from again. Just one example.

This administration was trying to take all of our freedoms away, under the guise of fighting this phony war on terrorism.
