Heat will always flow from hotter to colder. This happens in one of three ways
convection, this is basically the "mixture" of a gas or liquid- like when you pour cold water into hot water to cool it down.
conduction, this is basically two things sitting next to each other, like the way a window feels cold in the wintertime even though it is warm in the house
radiation, transfering energy through electromagnetism like the warmth you feel when you walk outside on a summer day, or when you get close to a radiator without touching it
This is the result of the second law of thermodynamics.

For two objects in contact heat will flow from the warmer to the cooler object until their temps are the same.
