The easiest way is to just scrub it with a sponge or paper towel that's been wetted with water with a splash of bleach in it, then wipe it down with clean water several times. I know you're worried about your baby, but believe it or not, they're pretty tough little critters. They come already with an immune system that will handle quite a lot of stuff. I'm told that there's even a medical theory that says that the kids whose parents keep the house completely sterile are the ones that are prone to develop all sorts of allergies. The reason is that their bodies never get exposed to dust, pollen, etc. when they're young. When they do get exposed to them, their immune system hits the panic button, and the kid's sinuses plug up solid. Look at the link below, and search for "hygiene hypothesis".
So clean the mold, but unless the fridge is encrusted with the stuff, don't think you have to make the apartment manager buy you a new refrigerator. That's overkill.

I would tell the landlord that you are not interested mving unless they buy a new refrigrator and it is tendent right to make the landlod to buy a new refrigerator do not bother cleaning it up you will be wastng money and time to keep the rerig clean. make the landlord buy a new refrig even befoe you move in because after you move in they say they are going to buy a new one they will delay the purchasing the refrig so besure to get the landlord to get a brand new refrig or else you would not move into an apartment if you did move in already than be sure they get a new one or else you will buy the rerig and take it out o the rent.

stick some ground up coffee beans on a filter in there. It should eliminate the risk of even having mold in there at all.
Not sure what to do with the mold already. There has got to be something to do other than replacing the whole fridge. I just dont know what. But just try the ol' coffee bean trick and see what that does. It should get rid of some of it.

You can easily get rid of this and keep it from coming back with baking soda. Mix some with water and it will wipe clean, disinfecting it at the same time and it will get rid of the smell. Always keep an opened box of baking soda in your fridge and freezer to soak up any unwanted odors. This works amazing and just wipes clean.

clean it with bleach and your good let it run for a bit and throw a box of arm and hammer in there then smell it, if it still smells like mold you can try another bleach clean other wise get rid of it that means the mold has gotten into the back panel of the freezer and the fan is blowing the smell in.

I would take vinegar and water and put them in a spray gun.Wet,wipe and rinse to clean well.I would tell you bleach and water, but with you expecting, the vapors can be harsh. You can let air dry with the door open and a fan for the smell.Spray it good and let it sit.Hope this helps.

Wipe the entire refrigerator down with very hot water and clorox bleach. That should take care of it.
