No you don't pay to be an actor. They pay you.
I am a agent. For those posting, most do not get paid millions. In most cases they are on a pay scale set by SAG union. Few get paid large amounts. The average is around $40,000 a year. Not much more than the average person. Pay for this job rises steadily for more famous workers but a mufti-million dollar film has over head.

I looked up some stats. Of all the members of the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG), only 2% percent make more than $200000 a year. 90% of SAG members are considered mostly unemployed. There are around 100,000 working actors, only around 50 would be the stars who are making millions.

actors get paid millions of dollar to satr in movies.... when they go for casting if their not picked they dont get paid nor do they have to pay.
