I can answer this scientifically to the best of my experiences and knowledge. Have you ever slept and woke up to feel like only seconds have passed when it should have been hours? Have you ever wondered where was your consciousness in the dozen billion years of time before you were born? Surely you knew you did not wait this long for your birth.
This is what happens when you die: In the brink few seconds before your death, you will feel like you are being forced to sleep except for the massive pain in the head and heart (assuming that you are dying naturally). After that? Nothing, except for to Rest In Peace and pass the rest of Time like how you passed the billions of years before you were born.
Now here comes to explaining my answer. You can feel nothing or notice nothing, not even time, when you are sleeping, and thus should be the same after your death. You do not reborn as another person because that person will not have the same consciousness as you and will just be another person. This is where de'javu comes in. The de'javu experiences in your lifetime may make you think that you have experienced them in a previous life. No. They are just psycological complexions of your brain. Also, you do not reincarnate as another animal. All the animals that we have studied showed no remarkable intelligence, that means none of them has once experienced a life of a human.
Heaven and Hell is a religion. If you believe in Heaven and Hell, then ask yourself why does it only apply to Humans. The only answer is another religious answer: Humans are the center and creation of God. This is scientifically a no-no. We were once as dumb as apes a while ago. Those prehistoric humans surely did not go to Heaven or Hell. Then why should we now? Humans are as fragile as any other animal. A meteor strike can kill them all. Humans are just more adapted to the world with their evolutionary breakthrough of "Intelligence". We are just doing an over-course in nature by adapting.
Reborning and reincarnating and God is just our own work with our own intelligence. I doubt that chickens worry about what happens after death, thus they have no chicken god, and they worry about trying to survive. This goes for the same for every other animal.

I've narrowed it down...
1>We die, and that's it.
2>We die, and go to ''Heaven'', or some similar plane of existance where all is good and pain no longer exists.
3>We come back again, reborn into a different form, and we start all over again.
Personally, the third of these options is the one that most alarms and disturbs me. If this life is only one of many, then that would seem, in theory, to make null and void any true connections we make here. It strikes me as existensial adultery.
But hey, that's just me...

I really have no clue. However, personally I think we just die. Cease to exist. Matter/Energy is neither created nor destroyed. So we go back to the earth. Decompose.
I'd like to believe that we become part of everything else. Or maybe there is a heaven. Maybe there is rebirth. But then why would the population be increasing?

Nothing. Death is simply falling asleep and never waking up.
you turn to ashes and dust. I don't believe in life after death for
sure. I am not a Christian. I believe in a higher power that
rules people...the supernatural yes I am a true believer. The
battle of good over evil forces. But death? who knows ?where
do dogs and cats go after they die? Nowhere. they just get
buried in the ground and turn to bones and fur.

When we die, our physical bodies and spiritual bodies separate. he physical body becomes, typically, buried in the ground while the spirit body returns home to that God that gave it life. Our spirit bodies await the resurrection, which came about due to the atonement and grace of Jesus Christ. After the atonement takes effect and we were are judged according to our accomplishments while on this earth, are spirit bodies and physical bodies once again become reunited, never to be separated again. We will live life eternal from that point on.

as per hindu mythology.. a soul goes thru 184000 reincarnations before it rests in peace... and taking a birth as human is considered to be superior however it also says that if u have done something wrong in this birth .. like killed any animal.. u become the same as when u are reincarnated.

The spirit exits the body and either stays on earth until something is resolved, or moves onto bigger and better places like heaven or hell.

This is what really happens after we die:
Organized religion would have us believe that we have to
work our way to Heaven and that's not true. Religion is Satan's attempt to deceive people from getting the real gospel, from knowing what they really must do to go to Heaven...after all Satan is allready judged he'll be heading there himself and he wants to take as many as he can down there with him. Satan is the one who casts doubt and confusion, not God he wants us to search the truth and if you really want it he will leed you to it. Biblical Christianity is not religion.
The King James Bible says that there's nothing we can do to earn our way to Heaven only our belief in Jesus Christ, repenting (being truly sorry and willing to turn away from a life of sin) and accepting his love gift of dying on the cross the shedding his precious blood to attone for our sins will get us into Heaven. Jesus did this for you and every single person..the price for our sin is paid in full by him, all you have to do is accept it. You will go to Heaven immediately after death to the Judgment seat of Christ to be judged for your service to him and to receive due rewards. The crowns we receive will go back to Jesus Christ because our own righteousness (which are as filthy rags) did not earn it, it was the imputed rightousness of Jesus since true righteousness comes from him.
Those who reject Jesus Christ will go to hell immedately after death where there is outer darknes weeping, wailing, and nashing of teeth. You'll be tortured by scorching heat and flames that will never be put out, you'll hear untold numbers of others (whom you will not meet) screaming in agony with you, having all your desires but none of them will be met, and you will remember everything. These people will be brought back on earth after Jesus 1000 year reign for the Great White Throne Judgement where you will be judged for your sins deemed guilty by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. You will bow your knee to him and confess that he is Lord then you will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity with all who reject him. Satan and all those devils will be in the lake of fire too.
So as you can see we are not re-born. People can think that they have all the answears but they don't, even as a born again Christian I don't have all the answears, but God tells us what he want's us to know...he's not secretive he reveals himself in the gospel, he's merciful, loving, and he's also just. Ask God to reveal himself to you and to show you what the truth is. Take the time to search. PLEASE don't buy the devil's lies it will cost you your soul!
