we are getting a freak storm (up to 25 cm) but the temperature is only going down to about -3. Will they make it or do I have to cover them or something?

Unless you can see color in the flowers, you don't need to cover them. The cold will delay them from coming up and out, but it won't kill them. Covering them could actually cause them to come up prematurely and cause their death later. The tulips know what they are doing. Let them do their thing.

Cover them with plastic, make sure to weigh the edges down so it doesn't blow away in the wind. They should be fine though, tulips are tough.

Mine are in bloom right now and just survived a freezing rain and below freezing temps. I was really amazed. But covering them can't hurt.

Plants are a lot tougher than people think. Covering them helps.

I would say that they will be ok..They are pretty hearty! But it would not hurt to put something over them!!! Good luck
