I am a sophomore right now but here is my estimated resume

3.625 GPA as of now but could grow to 3.7

all honors classes including AP Spanish, AP Calculus and AP English

founder and president of the Support Our Country Club for 3 years, HRC 2 years, School Newspaper 2 years

Football and Basketball freshman year

40 hours of community service

have not taken sat yet

Top 10-20% percent in my class

Boston College
Uconn
Penn State
Villanova
Ohio State

If you get decent SAT scores all of those schools are possible. BC will be the toughest to get into. UConn will be the easiest to get into (unless you live in Pennsylvania or Ohio). None of these schools are a lock.

If you take AP classes, you can raise your GPA higher.

My feeling at this point is that you have a chance at all the schools. This is your sophmore year and a lot can change. You will probably have a better chance at the non-state schools. State schools have a higher rate of applications from in-state due to the location and costs.

I think you can get into those schools, especially if you keep with the "Support Our Country" program that you started. Continue to focus in on that as your main extracurricular, and do some good work there. Talk about it on your application. That is something that will make you unique.

You can get into all of those from GPA and classes taken alone. If your grades are better than your scores, they letcha in. But I wouldn't go easy on those SATs, do your best!
