What are you considering the difference between "jot" and "write"?

If "jot" is being taken to mean "scrawl hastily," I would jot down a note that was really simple, like "I'll be home late," or "Your mom called." If "write" is being taken to mean something more lengthy, with more attention to presentation, I would write down a note to explain why I was going to be late, or to relay the message the mother left when she called, and say what I thought about it.

Both, depending on who the note goes to. If it is for my own use such as a to do list or grocery list, I jot it down but if I am writing a note to someone else, it gets written down in detail.

Depends on who it is to. If it's to someone special to me, I will write, if it's just a little reminder note for myself, I just jot it down!

To me "jot" it down means quickly. "write" it down means with care. I have to write it down. Absolutely must! If I jot something down, nobody can read it...not even me.

When I write a quick note to the hubby I jot it down really fast.. When I write one to my family members or whatever, I take my time with it!
