I accually heard of some forign couple nameing their kids this, haveing NO IDEA what it accaully ment - please tell me they are forign and don't know then you can just show them what it really means - otherwise you should tell him that nameing their child is not a joke - it will make her childhood miserable and will make life impossible for har as an adult as well. This is horrible - that poor kid!

Find out his reasoning behind choosing this name. You should also remind him of how cruel school children are and how much teasing and verbal abuse the girl will get in school. Do they really want their sweet baby to have to go through all of that? It will be very degrading and cause her self esteem to decrease a lot. Is this how they want their baby girl to feel? Not to mention that some schools may not allow you to enroll your child with that name. They may find it very offensive, even if your brother and his wife don't.

Good luck. I hope you are able to come to a compromise!

He wil find it hard to register that name on a birth certificate
Without telling anyone you could easily check the law on that.

Here's the easy way, tell him it should be highly considered child abuse for him to name her that, and that unless he enjoys seeing little kids cry all night because they are getting hit, kicked, or severely picked on he shouldn't do that to her. Tell him that if he cannot be mature about it, then you will completely disown him for good!

I would find out what the reasoning behind this is. Also, I would bring a dictionary and an encyclopaedia (for pictures) when confronting him, maybe if he knows what the actual meaning of the word is, maybe he would change his mind.

I am willing to bet he's messing with you and he's just going to name her Hannah or something normal like that. It's a great joke though if he is...wow. That's guts.

I highly doubt he will, they are probably just telling you all that to freak you out and so that you leave their real name choice alone.

Leave them be, they are pulling every ones leg and enjoying your reactions. Ignore him whenever he brings it up and he will stop mentioning it
