It's a reaction to poorly written/silly tv dramas... They've become so predictable that reality shows at least offered some level of unpredictability. But I think they're boring too, and not that realistic (unless groups of spoiled suburban americans often find themselves on deserted islands....)

It is contributing to the "dumbing down" of people. Besides, how much "reality" is really involved?
Networks can produce these shows far more cheaply than they can produce quality shows. Here's an example: NBC is producing shows like "Deal or No Deal" and the like and showing them several nights a week on a couple of channels, while they did nothing to promote a really good Aaron Sorkin show called "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip". Why? It's cheaper and people don't want to have to think.

I watch some of them, but most of the ones I watch have been around for a long time.
I'm tired of reality shows spawning reality shows -- Strange Love, Flavor of Love, I Love New York, etc. etc.
And tired of seeing these reality show "stars" prancing around like they starred in a blockbuster.
And just about anything & everything is turned into a reality show these days. Tonight on VH1...Celebrity Cow Tipping!!

I hate those shows- they're not "reality" really. Those people act out to get noticed on television. Some are so cruel to each other. I have never liked a reality show.

I can't stand any of the reality shows. There is nothing real about any of them and all they do is show people being stupid for that 15 minutes. of fame which let face it usually messes up the Rest of their lives. I would love to see more scripted show in the line up and way less of the reality TV that is in my opinion killing TV.

personally i am sick of them-at first they were okay when there were only a couple 0now everybody thinks they will have a reality show and just becasue it is a reality show people will watch it-most of them are stupid.

hell confident...i choose to pass and do a certainty tutor noted as, call center or welfare blues or some thing like that. i admire staring at shows on the invention channel, no longer survivor or great brother or style or love or rock of affection or...

so the d-list celebrity roster could be refilled,,, to many of the past ones were on shows like one-hit wonder, which meant their 15-minutes of fame were up,,,
