The girl I sit next to in class (Skylar) was having a very loud discussion with two other in our class. Out of no where Skylar announced that her parents are mormon and big time racists expecially against black people. I'm the only black person in class and I didn't say anything because she wasn't talking to me.
I just can't get that out my head because shortly after that she started making announcements that stuff of hers had gone missing and that 'someone' stole it, only to find it later.
Should I say anything to this ignorant girl? What's her deal? Why would you confess stuff like in class?

Unfortunately I can't say this hasn't happened to me a lot. I would take a stand and let her know that all black people don't steal and ask her if she has something to say to you because it sounded as if she was trying to accuse you of something or trying to use you as a 'word on the street' person. (she wants you to tell other black people at your school) Don't fall into the trap of getting too offended because
people like that love to see you all upset over them and what they think about you, so don't give them the satisfaction!!!! Keep your head UP!!!!!! One.

The Mormons unfortunately teach that people with Black skin are cursed by god. They call it the mark of cain. This disgusting doctrine comes from the old red neck old prophets such as Brigham Young. It is sad because not only are you getting racially abused but this girl is growing up with the mormon red necked ideals.

Say something. If you don't, it will appear that you don't respect yourself.
I don't know what her parents being mormon have anything to do with anything, though. I'm mormon, and I can tell you that the religion opposes prejudice, and says we should treat everybody with respect, regardless of anything. So if her parents ARE mormon and racist, they aren't doing such a hot job following the commandments.

No you shouldn't say anything to her. Just ignore her. If she says something to you personally or personally accuses you of stealing her stuff then you should report her to a teacher or other adult at your school. It would also be a good idea to tell your parents just in case you have problems with this girl.

It is sad to say but there are racist Mormons but the majority of Mormons are not racist. They are very nice people.
I think it is very inappropiate to confess stuff like that in class.
I think even if you did talk to her it would not do any good but it might.

A confrontation may not be the best thing especially if she has a lot o friends they'll probably gang up on you or something. But you can try that If your willing to take that chance. Or just ignore her because she's not worth it.

Tell your teacher...and maybe try to ask Skylar what's going on at home. Maybe she's having family problems and can only vent it out in this negative way

She is just an attention seeker. You be the bigger person and leave her dumb a** alone. Sounds to me let she is not worth you giving her the time of day. No room for haters......
