I am trying to relate this to history. But really, with your question, you said a mouthful.

As you can see, this is a question which 1) really doesn't belong in the History section, and 2) doesn't have a "set" answer as the answer will differ from person to person according to their individual tastes/likes/dislikes.
As for me, I've always said if you couldn't wrap 'em around your head and have the nipples touch, they weren't big enough! And that the only people who say "anything more than a mouthful is a waste" have a serious lack of imagination!

Well, considering I have been at both ends of the spectrum and am now in the middle...
a D
I went from having no boobs to HUGE boobs (real ones, thanks) to the middle. I couldn't stand the biggies because of the stares, backaches, and not finding clothes to fit right. Now that I had a reduction and am smaller but not too small I am completely comfortable. I'm a D now, and it's the best thing I ever did!!!!
Speaking of "Hanging like flour sacks from a clothesline"... that's how mine were. Now I have nice little perky things!!!

I don't care about the size so much as the shape. Pert, shapely breasts are a lot more attractive than droopy hangy ones. And some women don't have to be that old to have them hanging like flour sacks from a clothes line. lol

well a 34 C is very common, but personally they will always look better if the girl maintains some semblance of a waist.....

I'm happy the way I am - smallish. Big gets in the way for sports, etc and small but well-shaped looks better in clothes. My DH agrees.

Rather misplaced question, don't you think?? This category is supposed to be for HISTORY!! Remove your question and enter it in its proper category: Women's Health.
Chow!!
