I have a 15 gallon tank with a heater and filter. Right now I have a Male Betta - 5 neon tetras and a dwarf frog. Is there any non schooling fish I can add. I really only have room for another fish or 2 - I like colorful fish - any recomendations to add to this community?

Ok technically you can add 9 fish. the dwarf frog doesn't count towards the max number of fish you can have in your tank. Don't get any fish with fancy tails like guppies( the tails remind Bettas of other male bettas and it will get eaten.) You could get a few Gouramis(gouramis look nothing like Bettas). You could get a rainbow fish or a swordtail.

Cichlids: Salvini, Firemouth, Severum, Rams, Angels Others to function: maximum Synodontis catfish(get some petricola, multipunctatus, or one Synodontis Eupterus), Pictus catfish, Raphael catfish(we like our observed) for my section, you are able to in no way circulate incorrect with cichlids. yet i'm slightly biased, we shop cichlids in all yet one in all our six fish tanks. And we are making plans on a 300g tank construct in the subsequent year to make room for the assorted dudes! they're fairly profitable fish to maintain. i might advise the Severums in case you like a great number of character, and the Angels in case you like some thing fairly quite (and thus far as angel breeds circulate, you have a great number of recommendations. yet marbles have a tendency to look greater helpful and stay longer).

A cory cat or two would be a good addition. If you can find them, a killifish or two would also offer a lot of color in the tank. A single male guppy or platy would be good for color and if only one you don't have to worry about breeding fish filling the tank.

if your male betta is one of the bettas that are very calm then you could possibly add a dwarf gourami but the betta and gourami might not get along because they look similar

You don't have room for any more fish, your tank is already at max if not over. Can't tell 100% without knowing the filtration.

the ram cichlid is very colorful, isn't schooling, and only grows to 3 inches...
