Has anyone been told they were going to have a baby of one sex and then suprise, he or she ended up being the opposite of what you were told and has anyone just felt like they knew what the sex of their baby was?? I was told I was having a girl by the sonogram tech, and have felt that I am having a girl since the very beginning, but everyone in the world tells me they think its a boy. I only have 17 days left till D day and Ill know for sure!

today's sonograms are very accurate - I am a tech and can tell you that for someone to tell you that it is a girl they shoudl have seen ovaries, not just a lack of boy parts (which back in the day is all they could go off of). You can see VERY detailed anatomy when you get the right image (I mean down to the labial folds), so you should feel confident that it is a girl. And people can be quite wrong - with my first I carried high so everyone swore that it was a girl (and it was a boy just like the u/s showed) and this one is a girl, I am very confident but I am carrying very low so everyone says it is a boy.

These days ultrasounds are pretty accurate at telling the sex of the baby. With girls, it's a little less accurate because a boy could always be hiding it. With boys, it's pretty obvious. It's either there or it isn't. We were told it's a boy, and I'm very positive it is a boy. I knew it was a boy since I found out I was pregnant. I've known alot of people who had girls and the u/s tech told them it was a girl. I wouldn't worry about it too much. And I still haven't met someone who was told it was one sex, and then had the opposite sex, but it does happen.

A sonogram does leave room for failure, or so that is what all of the technicians say. However, boy parts are much easier to distinguish than girl parts for various reasons. I would be inclined to go with what the sonogram tech told you, but there is always a small chance for innacuracy. I bet it's a girl. Good luck!

I can't say I know for sure I guess, but the U/S said twice I'm having a little boy. I'm 24 weeks pregnant and since probably the 17th week when I started feeling him move I knew he was a boy. No doubt for me. I can't explain why, but I just knew, and that was 5 weeks before the ultrasound when they identified a sex. I was so convinced, everything I had picked up at consignment sales and stores was either for a boy or unisex leaning more towards a boy. My husband was freaking out actually, saying "If it's a girl what will she wear?"... Once I could feel him moving I just knew.

I'm sure people are telling you its a boy due to old wive's tales. If the tech said girl and you've all along thought girl, I'll bet its a girl. There is always the chance of a surprise, but a lot does depend on the experience of the tech and how clear a shot they got. With my 20 wk ultrasound, we got numerous angles that all showed boy. For my girls, one was iffy because we only caught one fleeting glance, but ended up being correct. You'll know soon! Best of luck!

It is most likely a boy. When it is said to be a boy, it is highly likely 99.9% they seen a penis. Technology is much better now in telling the sex than it was 17 years ago. The doctor told me 3 times I was having a girl. After he was born, I asked, "Is it a girl?" The nurse said, "girl, girl, girl" 3 times. When I lefted up my head to look at the baby, I said, "that's a boy!" and the other nurse said, I never seen a girl with anything like that between her leg. So I figured, he was just a shy boy, in other words, his penis was small and it was hard to tell if he was a boy. I just hope he's not small now :-). Well, in letting you know that, his penis is big enough to determine he is a boy and congratulation on your baby boy and buy all the baby boy clothes you want. Your man is finally getting his boy, I can almost bet my life on those apples :-).

Well, on my second level Ultrasound I was told that I will be having a girl but everyone tells me that it cannot be a girl because the way I am carrying…we are happy for either way as far as the baby is healthy....God luck

IS everyone in the world basing their boy prediction on a hunch? It seems like the sonogram tech - who was LOOKING at your little one has more proof for you. Best of luck and welcome to mommyhood.

i compared my sonogram pics of my daughter to the pics of my friend's son in the womb - it's a very obvious distinction in the "private parts." You're having a girl!
