looking for a mold to make personalized acrylic key chains with pictures inside. It is with a poured resin. I need to know how to make an opaque bottom, some kind of puff paint for writing names and designs, then a clear coat to finish to top.

Acrylic usually comes in sheets that you can cut. To get pictures inside, you want to use resin. You may want to pour and make your own molds. I haven't seen key molds (but I haven't searched either). For an opaque bottom, you just have to color your resin and pour that first. After that dries, put the picture or name in it and then you can pour a layer of the clear resin over the picture and the previously poured opaque part.

the companies that make the plastic goop make colors, some opaque so you pour the bottom put the photo in, then pour the clear top. they also usually make the molds and books on things to do, but i thought all that went out of fashion ages ago.

We used to make acrylic stuff all the time in the 70's. It's a lot of fun. You need plastic or metallic letters, because you won't be able to paint on wet acrylic. You might also be able to use painted macaroni letters. You pour half of the item, plant your stuff, then pour the rest.

Here are a few molds, or you can make your own from rubber, sold on the same site. http://www.delviesplastics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=DP&Category_Code=Polyethylene_Molds
