when the damage is done there cud be only a restore point to help if you were so wise as to choose one regularly. if not formatting and starting all up again is the rule, unfortunately...

It's hard to say what happened but you can try and go to the "setup an internet connection" in network connections under network tasks. Choose to add a new connection and see if it will walk you through it. If that does not work, it sounds as though you may have deleted a driver that your network card may need so you can try looking at system in control panel and choose the hardware section and go to device manager and look for your network adapter and run diagnostics to see if it's working properly. If you have lost a driver, you may need your original computer disk or maybe you can get it online at their site (who ever made the network adapter). The driver that is if it says that it's missing.

Good luck!

u deleted ur nic card drivers...there is no way u can connect to the internet without them. do either one of these 2 things:

1-system restore which is suggested here already by somebody
2- install the drivers, if u have them on a disk/cd

Possibly the quickest and easiest thing to do is to do a System restore, assuming you have Windows XP or better. Go to Start...>All Programs...>Accessories...>System Tools...>System Restore. Follow the instructions and restore to a point prior to the mishap.
