I bought a pair of black ballet flats like these

They are velvet (looks more like suede, as it's very short) and quilted patent leather toes. Can I wear them to work with a nice blouse and slacks, or are they too dressy? I know nothing about fashion and appropriate shoes.

Actually I think that would look very nice and professional.

I would think that you could wear black velvet and
patent leather ballet flats for one day. The rest

wear that on a special occassion. It's better for you to wear a blouse and black leather pants or skirt. With leather boots.

I work in an office and while it's nothing very fancy, I wear stuff like that sometimes. You could make it look less formal by wearing a nice top or a cardigan instead of a button down blouse.

Right now i have bloch leather split sole. I have had them for 3 years now and they have been great. I think the next time i get ballet shoes i am going to try canvas. Canvas I think blend better with pink tights. Hope that answered your question!

It depends.

Where do you work? What kind of work do you do? What part of the country do you live in?

If you are in California, for example, it doesn't matter what you wear; everyone will like it.

I like young ladies in jeans. It creates them look more city like and it doesn't appear to be they try too much but if you are looking to get this folks attention, this might not be what you would like

I really do enjoy using long skirts once in a while. They can be actually more comfortable than Skinny jeans and not as hot to wear also.

Definitely, as long as you wear long pants, they will be fine no matter how much of a proffessional place you work in!
