The question is a difficult one because researchers are not totally agreed on why human's dance, let alone animals. A weasel's dance (a frenzied series of sideways and backwards hops, often accompanied by an arched back, dooking or hissing noises, and a frizzy tail) is typically an excited reaction to some sort of accomplishment (i.e. stealing a toy). Therefore, if it must be put into human terms, it is probably more appropriate to think of a weasel's dance as similar to a human's spontaneous gyrations in response to some sort of excitement (i.e. your favorite team scoring a goal). Assuming this analogy is accurate, which cannot be proven, then one might surmise that weasel's dance in celebration.
