Back in 1949 when our first one was born we would pin him in a blanket. Spred the blanket out the length of the crib, lay the baby down with its head above the top of the blanket and fold the bottom up to match the top part, Using two "Horse blanket safety pins" pin on each side of the neck just above the shoulder and also pin just under the arms. This way the baby stays covered but can still moved, we used the same system for the next three. The oldest one is living is 56, we lost Bruce in 1991. Kind of hard to explain how to do it we also used a heavy blanket as we lived in Northern NJ at the time. Horse blanket pins are large safty pins used to pin horse blankets, are about 2-3 inches long.

If you're worried about that, then maybe the best thing to do is to just buy the pajamas with the feet attached, so you don't have to use a blanket. I wasn't worried about my baby, since she was very strong and could push up and hold her head up at an early age.

You could try swaddling. Do you know how to swaddle with a large, thin blanket, like a burrito? If you get really good at swaddling, you can tuck it under really well so the baby can't get out of it. As another mommy or a nurse to show you. It's great, and most babies (especially newborns) love it!

If your baby is a newborn...you can swaddle your baby in the blanket....of course as they get older keeping the blanket in place will become more and more of a challenge...my son for one hated to be swaddled and he always found out a way to get out of the blanket...also as he got older he learned how to pick up the blanket and put it over his face as a habit (bad habit i know!!!...he always thought it was fun coz dad plays peek a boo with him by putting something on his face)...

Anyway, to answer your question...it will probably be a better idea to dress your baby up in WARM clothing...long sleeves, nice thick pajama pants with socks, maybe even with a beanie...if you are concerned about him/her getting cold...or you can manipulate the room temperature using a heater on auto (you can set the temp) and dress your baby accordingly

The best invention is the baby sleeping bag - the gro bag. That way it doesn't matter.

My baby tends to kick off his blanket. I don't tuck it in. I do keep the room warm.

You should swaddle the baby in a blanket. If you have not had your child yet, they will show you how to do it in the hospital. If you have already had your child and need to know how to do it just send me a message

the best thing to do is to dress the baby warmly when he goes to bed so you don't have to put a blanket on. Even very little babies wriggle around and could get tangled in them... it's just a bad idea!

No blankets for babies. Just use a heavier sleeper if the baby is cold.

under their arms, just keep checking on the baby, use a baby blanket not an adult blanket.
