Not sure about garage sales, but I just sold a pair toddler Nike's on Ebay for $4.95 plus shipping. They were also almost new.

The diaper genie is not necessary. For the first couple of months, all the baby needs are a few clothes, mostly the gown sleepers (don't grow out of them so quick, good for boys and girls and with no annoying snaps to do in the middle of the night), a bassinet, a vibrating chair, a swing, a changing pad (I put mine on the end of the counter, table not necessary), a couple swaddling blankets, burp rags, bottles, Binky's, car seat, crib to grow into, bedding, and sleeping wedge. I call these the necessities. I would wait on purchasing things until after the baby shower. Sometimes you get what you pay for. On items like bedding, Carters is pretty good. Doesn't make much sense to save $2 and have the sheets rip in a months time. The crib sheets will be used for a few years. Diapers are also something you don't want to skimp on. Pampers are the best followed by Huggie's. The cheaper diapers leak and then you'll have to change the bay about 5x a day. Then you have to spend extra on detergent. I accept hand me downs. Some women are greedy and will complain if everything isn't expensive and new. My sister in law is like that. I wouldn't buy much formula for the baby. For one thing, your ex may qualify for WIC and may get the formula for free. Next thing to remember is that you can't return formula and the baby may be allergic to what you buy. You won't know this until the baby is born. Don't waste you money on formula. If the baby is allergic, you'll end up with cases you can't use. Nothing wrong with being frugal, but don't be cheap. There is a difference. Remember to keep the negative feeling for mom separate from your feelings for the child. The child didn't ask to be born and is innocent in this mess.

Id put 2-5.00 on them, You can always come down. I have an a huge summer sale too, and I tend to sell the kids stuff cheap just because I want someone to get some good out of it. My 6 yr old is a shoe buff and i tend to weed her shoes out... I price her shoes under 1.00 but thats just because she has too many shoes lol I kid you not she has 13 pair of black boots alone, with different styles She has over 25 pair of shoes and only 2 pair are nike the others are boots and dress shoes
Try to set up with Ebay.... let them decide what to pay lol Set it at 50Cents and watch them bid, Make sure you take a pic of them ... You will make way more on the kids clothes too if you take good pictures and make like a lot of 4-6 items.... Ive sold alot of Crissy's stuff.

All I have to say is EBAY.
I have been selling things on Ebay for a few months now and things like brand name baby clothes and shoes sell like crazy on there and you can get a lot more for them than you can at a garage sale. For example I sold a couple of my son's Nike sandals (used) on Ebay and they went for $12 for the pair (plus $5 for shipping)...now if they would have been at a garage sale i would've gotten half that MAYBE.

since babies grow out of stuff so quick and half the time they are in really good shape and I think 2$ is a fare price depending on the condition they are in.since they're nikes 2$ is more than fare.My son had a pair of black nike high tops that he grew out of and i sold them for 3$.forget what your husband says and sell them for2$. that's what I think

If you sell it on ebay, you can get more $$ for it. If there are people looking for baby stuff that comes to your garage sale, yes, they will pay $2 for it.

rule of thumb at yard sales you can mark it up 2 begin with and you can come down in price if you wish but you cannot go higher ha ha and by the way 2 dollars is darned good price for nike baby shoes
