In my personal opinion, I don't really think that Cinderella's Royal Table is worth the cost they are charging for it. However, I'm not experiencing it through the eyes of an 8 year little girl, who I'm sure loves the Princess'. For that reason, it may be worth it. It really is a great experience, to eat in the Castle, see the princess', etc.
However, outside of getting to meet some Princess' and take some picture, and being able to say that you have dined in the castle, I think it is all overrated.
For starters, the time you get with the Princess', especially Cinderella is very limited. Basically, you take a picture and that is it, so only a short amount of time do they spend with you, generally less than a few minutes, and then they are off to visit everyone else. If the main reason you are going is for Cinderella, you may not want to pay the money for the meal. And also don't forget that Cinderella is only available for pictures as you walk in, you wait in line, they take your picture and that is it. The line has to keep moving, so very little time is available with her.
Second, you usually have a long wait, even with an advanced dining reservation. A while ago you could not even get into the breakfast without a reservation, and it sold out the day it was open for booking. Since they raised the price, it isn't as hard to get a table, but you still should do a reservation or you more than likely won't get in. Even with the reservation you usually have at least 20 minutes to wait to get in.
The other problem is because of the popularity as well. Since there are so many people to get through the restaurant in such a short period of time, they can kind of rush you through. Which, sometimes means the service is also lacking as well. I read one a review once and the woman said she barely sat down, didn't even have her camera off from around her neck and they had already put her food on the table. I just feel really rushed in there. Many people I've talked with and reviews I've read have felt the same way.
In my opinion, the most important part is the food, when it comes to the value and whether or not it is worth it. The food, in my opinion is not worth it. Breakfast is preplated and the food is generally cold. I find the pastries to be good, but the rest of the food is not as good. Lunch and dinner isn't much better, as with breakfast, a few of the items are okay, but the rest isn't anything to brag about. For the money you will spend, there are so many better options, and can get much better food for a lot less.
Again, eating in the Castle is really special, and probably every little girls dream, but the meal is pretty costly. If you are on a budget, I don't think that you will be very pleased with it, overall.
If your main goal is to eat in the Castle, there really isn't another option, so I suppose in this case it would be well worth the money, especially for your daughter. If your goal is to eat with the Princess' you may consider Princess Storybook, I like that one a little better, it costs less and I think it is more worth the money. If you just want to dine with characters, I think that Chef Mickey's is a great option. There are many options for characters, and much better ones than Cinderella's Royal Table, in my opinion.
I've included some links to some reviews for you. You can navigate around to get to other restaurants, if you like, or you can e-mail me if you have any other questions. I've also included a link to info on the characters at each restaurant.
I hope this helps!

Yes, it is. There are a lot of characters and because seating is limited your daughter will get to get pictures and even have a short conversation with every character there - no standing in lines for a quick photo op like out in the park. If you do want it, though, you need to call and get your dining reservation the morning it becomes available. Call Disney dining the minute they open up - as soon as you get a rep on the phone you need to interupt them yelling that you want breakfast or dinner at Cinderella's castle for ___ people. Believe me it sounds rude and crazy but it is so hard to get reservations especially when the park is busy.
Another hint, (assuming you get a choice which you may not) try to get a very early breakfast reservation. You can sometimes get one at a time before the park is even open, which means you will be in the park before anyone else and you can get a jump on your rides that day.
Good luck!

If your daughter is a big princess fan than it will be a priceless memory. The food wasn't too impressive at the breakfast as opposed to other dining offered at Disney but the location, views and characters there are what people go there for.
