Of course it's a number... It can be used to measure distance, you can have a 0 vector and many other things...
Prolly the most substantial proof I can bring is that if you have the number 0 and only the number 0, it is not a null set (meaning that nothing is inside the set)

Yes, it is a number.
You need it to count empty sets.
For example, if you have a basket of apples, and somebody asks how many oranges are in the basket, you'd say zero.
You say zero "has no value." That's not true. It has a value if "five" has a value. Zero has the value zero, five has the value five.

it "is" a number, but ive always thought of it as its own thing, "zero", nothing. numbers make up things, and if theres nothing there then there is nothing, so no number! lol so its zero! lol so its not really a number, but it is.... haha so confusing!
