We dont even have a home phone, we only use our cells. I see no reason to rack up an extra phone bill. Why? I can bring my cell anywhere and its Metro so I can talk as much as a Iwant for my $40/month.

Cell phone has it's place...but you do need a landline, a hardwired landline. Why you ask? Not to be a fear mongerer like we're supposed to be), but on 9/11, cell phones didn't work. Circuits overloaded and towers (cell towers) came down. Here in tornado country, the same thing could happen. The landline works without an antenna somewhere (hence, landline) plus it'll work even when the electric power is off since the phone runs on it's own system The only problem with a landline is if you have only a portable (no cord) phone that you walk around with. Any time you use your own home's electrical service the portable will go down if it goes down.....

I'm one of the few college students to not own a cell phone. Primary reason? Cost. I don't have the money.

I think cell phones have too many bells an whistles nowadays. If I had one, I'd just want a phone, not a TV-iPod-cheese grater combo.

The biggest disadvantage to a landline is that the number shows up as "unknown" on others' cells, so they never answer.

I'm glad I'm not tied to a cell phone. Far too many people are dependent on them. I like the idea that if I leave, people can't get a hold of me.

Cell phones. I can be reached anytime, and I am out a lot of the time. The biggest problem with telephones is that you are tied to one location, or at least near that location if you want to use it.

Cell phones because ppl can reach u anywhere. More privacy with conversations too i guess. With telephones u cant necessarily carry them out of ur house or wherever they r. And u r at risk of someone listening in on ur conversation!

Cell Phone. You don't have a range limit (well mostly) it has a pretty screen and cool ring tones, and you can change the cover. Not many land phones you can do that, even though they are trying to come out with one.
