NYU is way better than Penn State.

NYU has very good science programs (especially medicine and health related stuff) and since nutrition has somethings to do with the body and health, I think NYU is the better choice. Go to NYU!!!

Both are good programs, I like NYU better though. I guess at this point you should be considering what are the financial options that you have from both schools. However if finance is not an issue and you don't have a problem with living in New York. I would go with NYU over Penn State. NYU has a slightly better reputation in most programs and provides you with an opportunity to seek out jobs from potential employers in NY which is a good thing. You need to think about opportunities that would be available to you when you graduate.

Good luck with you decision.

While NYU does have more prestige, Penn State is cheaper. I'm completely biased: I absolutely love NYU, I live right outside the city and I go there as often as possible, and I tend to look down upon other states. If you're looking at nutrition, I'd say they're about equal... Penn State is known more for it's medicine, but NYU has great academics in general, and that includes sciences. It really just depends on the type of environment you want for the next four years, and how much you're willing to spend (keep in mind that NYC in general is not cheap).

Apples and oranges. Penn State has a traditional campus; NYU has almost no campus; its buildings are spread out. Friends who went to NYU said they didn't really get involved in school organizations--they were too busy enjoying the city and participating in non-school activities. Penn State has a campus, and the student body is the size of a small town. Much of your life would revolve around school, and most of the people you'd interact with would be associated with your school, because you'd be on campus most of the time. Nothing wrong with that; you just need to decide which experience you'd prefer.

NYU is actually located in a pretty safe area in NYC--and most of Manhattan is very safe now. There is always going to be a certain level of crime in any big city, but Manhattan has been one of the safest large cities for some time now.

They're both very good schools, and you'll do well coming out of either one. If you were looking to go into business, I'd say, hands down, NYU has the better reputation, but with what you're going for, it's not as big a deal.

Good luck in your decision.

Penn State is a Big Ten school, which means that it has the big sports and the exciting game-day atmosphere. It's less expensive but less selective.

NYU is in New York City. It's difficult to get into but very expensive.

Though both schools are recognizable, an NYU degree will open doors for you that Penn State won't even see.

One is a great university in the middle of the most interesting part of the greatest city in the world. New York is a much more livable place than people would have you believe.

The other is a good state university in the middle of nowhere.

Which appeals to you more?

NYU is the better school -- but Penn State is a very good university. If you are a resident of Pennsylvania and money is an issue, I can see choosing Penn State. But NYU dominates Penn State in almos tall other areas.

Theyre the two exceptional faculties. NYU is ridiculously high priced however and in case you ever plan to stay off campus then be arranged to pay a TON. Penn State has a spectacular campus, regardless of the certainty that there is not any longer lots to do interior the section around the school. the two have exceptional teachers.

NYU!
I mean, I don't know what your career plans are, but it's in the middle of New York Cityy!!
Who wants to go to college in Pensyllvania?
No like it's an awesome college, but I'm just thinking about location.
NYU is a good school for film and arts while Penn State has good medical and law programs.
NYC has different parts to it. Some are nice and clean some are not. But you don't have to live on campus you can live anywhere.
Either way, congrads!
