We, as humans, have certain boundaries of thought. We tend to think in specific terms that, often, we cannot divorce ourselves from.
When we think about things, we are restricted to certain parametrics. Logic does not always triumph, especially when dealing with things that are external to our three physical dimensions. I suppose it goes without saying that logic fails when we try to think or talk about God.
I mean, what, if anything, is logical about God?
But to you unbelievers...I defy you. IF your premise for disbelief in the existence of God is predicated upon the fact that you cannot physically SEE him...think about the plethora of things that are real, yet cannot be viewed by the human eye.
Moreover, think about this for a moment. If you were God, and you intended to allow mankind the freedom to believe or disbelieve in your existence, would you reveal yourself so brazenly?
And finally, where, I wonder, did God come from. Some of you refuse to believe, but not I.

God is far beyond the grasp of the finite human mind. But I think the realization of God comes from the self awareness of humanity as well as the awareness of the unknown. The greatest question to ask a non believer is "what is the purpose of human existence".
I think of God as being a super-conscious similar to our own only not confined by space and time.
If we were to live eternally our conscious' would have the capacity to contain the infinite wisdom of God, and would eventually grasp the universal truth.

GOD IN SIKHISM , a term used to denote any object of worship or evocation, signifies the belief of most modern religions in the existence of a Supreme Being who is the source and support of the spatio-temporal material world. Theologians remember Him by the name of God. The fundamental belief of Sikhism, too, is that God exists, not merely as an idea or concept, but as a Real Being, indescribable yet not unknowable. Some more:
"Realization of Truth is higher than all else.
Higher still is Truthful Living." (Guru Nanak)
There is only one God, he is the Creator, Sustainer and Destroyer.
"You are the Creator, O Lord, the Unknowable. You created the Universe of diverse kinds, colours and qualities. You know your own Creation. All this is your Play." (Guru Nanak, Var Majh)
"The Formless Supreme Being abides in the Realm of Eternity. Over His creation He casts His glance of grace. In that Realm are contained all the continents and the universes, Exceeding in number all count. Of creation worlds upon worlds abide therein; All obedient to His will; He watches over them in bliss, And has each constantly in mind." (Guru Nanak, Japji)
GOD is one, His name is true, He is creater, He is without fear, He is inimicle to none, He never dies, He is beyond births and deaths, He is self illuminated, He is realized by the kindness of True Guru, Repeat His Name..He was True in the beginning, He was true when ages commenced and has ever been true. He is also true now. Nanak says that he will certainly be true in the future...(Guru Nanak, Japji).

God is a God of order.
i.e. the order of our solar system, our planet; water recycles, animals help the planet & us to stay healthy(barring human diasters), the sun & moon is exactly the right distance from us and much, much more.
Logic is order
If logic fails u when u think or speak of HIM, if I were u I'd Q what /whom it is that is teaching/ telling u these things.
He reveals himself to us in MANY many different ways/things.
From Creation to Love..... the laughter of a small child,a beautiful sunset, the smell of an apple pie baking, seeing ur grandparents dancing on their 60th wedding Anniversary,a bird feeding it's young. I could go on,& on.
Where HE came from??!
He just is & always was. Some things we can't grasp b-cuz we are earth bound, we think of things in an earthly, material way, & HE is spirtiual.
(Look @ ur 1st line)
i.e. HE had the Bible penned by men to help us gain a better understanding.
Good to know u believe in HIM.

I disagree that logic can not lead you to God. Logically you could describe God as that what was when there was nothing, or that which was before there was time.. or the spark that started it all... it may not be exactly the same way you see God... but it is God to me... and that's just my view of the logic..

What is logical about God? That is interesting since some of the most compelling logical arguments prove that there is a God.
The Ontological Argument. The Prime Mover Argument. The Argument from design. The Existential argument for the existance of God.

God has no time
God has no specific place
God is omnipresent (he is everywhere)
God can not be measured by these things because God is a mystery.
We do know that God always was. There was never a creation of God because only God can create. There is never an ending of God because only God can take away life. God just IS.

You said it yourself- there is no logic as to why a god would even exist. My reason for not believing isn't because I can't see it, but because there's no logical reason to believe it at all.

Faith in God or faith in matter--in either case the faith is the same. We cannot see the one, and because we cannot explain the other we accept by faith that it has always existed. Some things must be accepted as such--even finite things like another's love for us must be accepted on faith, for how do you prove love empirically?
Better, perhaps, to consider what our course of action is based on what we have faith in, and determine whether or not that thing is worthy of such faith. God, matter, love... what deserves the riches of your action?

I have no idea where God came from? But what i would like to know is this...If God is truly omnipotent, he knows all ,sees all, created all, etc. Then what is the purpose of life if he already knows the end result of everything and every ones life? If God already knows who is going to heaven and who is going to hell then what is the purpose of watching all of us go through our daily lives trying to serve him and live the life we need to to go to heaven?
