no. I do not believe in true love, or soul mates. I DO believe in love, and I believe that you can be happy and fulfilled with one person for the rest of your life. However, I do not think this person is MEANT to be with you.
There are too many things that contridict the true love philosophy. Plus, I personally think it's depressing to think that there is only one person out there for you.
First of all, love is something that did not really matter until the Victorian era. Marriage was a matter of conveniance. So, if there is only one person meant for another, than people before this time never knew it, nor did the majority of them end up with this person. Second of all, what about all those people who die before meeting "the one." That means the future partners of all those people will be alone and miserable for the rest of their lives. And some people are married several times. Which person is meant for them then? And what about people who never get married at all? And then you throw the whole same-sex issue on the table, and things become even more complicated when contemplating true love.
I think you settle down with whoever you are with at the time when you become ready to be committed. This is sometimes a bad thing, and sometimes a good thing. The point is - you can love deeply, and be loved in return. But, if for any reason you should lose that person, I do not think you are destined to be by yourself. You just have to find another person to love.

I'm not completely sure there's someone out there who's meant for me. I'm hoping so. I'm hoping even more that I'll recognize that person when I meet him. Time will tell. I'll just keep living my life until that moment comes along.

Absolutely, I'm engaged to him right now and I know in my heart in soul that he was always meant to be my husband and companion for the rest of my life. I couldn't imagine being happier with anyone else.

Yes sweetie. He will be your soul mate. You don't even have to search for him. Just live your life day by day, your soul mate will come to you when the time is right. You will know without a doubt and have no question as to whether this is THE ONE or not.

No. I am a pot without a lid and I guess that's the way it was meant to be. Not every one has a soul mate.

I didn't believe it, but I kept trying and 7 years ago he found me. I can't wait to be old with him. We are going to give our kids a run for the money.

I thought that once...then he cheated on me and got another girl pregnant.
Now I just think that people come in and out of our lives and if the timing and other conditions are right, it will be.
