It's a blue hydrangea and right now it is in a pot. I know next to nothing about planting, so I am not sure when is the best time to plant it outdoors and how to take care of it in the house until then.

Also, this was received as an Easter gift and did not have that little tag with it that explains how to care for the plant.

You didn't say what kind of hydrangea...most species will take some sun but some prefer partial shade. Are you growing it indoors or outdoors, in the ground or in a pot.... Might help if you could get information on pot, most plants come with growing suggestions with them... In the future look for a little tag on tag in pot with planting suggestions and how to care for your babies... It might help... Hydrangea's are fun to grow...but they come in over 23 different species... I would help you in more detail if I knew more about your particular one.

I don't do anything to mine. It was a stick that I pulled out of the woods and planted in a spot that gets morning sun and afternoon shade. I never water it or prune it and it gets bigger every year. Birds lived in it last year.
