I'd prefer not to be remembered.
Since friends would be hurt by remembering, it seems better that they don't. After all, your question sounds pretty final. I won't notice whether they think of me or not once dead.
I once read that one should not name the dead. When you do, there is supposed to be an answer for that death. 'Why did he and not she die?' More, it accuses the living. 'Why did my brother have to die, and not me. Maybe, if I had... '.
But these are questions that cannot be answered. And thus: do not ask it. Do not remember the name of the dead.
Of course this is too extreme. But still....
I don't want to be remembered, so people will never feel guilty or bad about my passing.

A friend of mine passed away last August and the one thing I keep of hers in my heart is her laugh. She had the biggest, most contagious laugh I've ever heard. There was no way to be around her and not smile and feel good.
So for myself, I'd like for my friends and family to remember how good it felt to be with me. In order for that to happen, I've committed myself to random acts of silliness just to get a smile.

I want to be remembered for making a difference; for as many people I have made a mark on. It doesn't need to be publicized, just a brief reminisce and a slight smile.

I don't want people to remember me.
What i want is for people to remember my ideas and philosophy (that will bring goodness and happiness) until the age of men has come to an end.

Couldn't tell you what I would like to be remembered for but I'm sure I shall be remembered for being grumpy, and stroppy for most of my life and frowning at children!!

I hope that, after I am gone, that when my children think of me they will remember me as a good mom. They are wonderful daughters, so I like to think that I was instrumental in that.

I would like my friends to remember me as someone who was entertainment...and a good friend.
As for legacies that last beyond the death of my friends and I.....that is not important.

mine is for being a "real friend"
"Good"? for what? You need to be specific when you say "good", for obvious reasons.
