I'm extremely disappointed with the answers here, although I can't say it's surprising..
How about rephrasing this question to "Is it true all women are animals, but some are okay as pets?":
This would cause outrage and I'm sure someone is shouting at their screen as a result, and it demonstrates a double-standard.

With no disrespect intended; yes it is true.

I just married one who is a darned fabulous pet, and I adore him (and I say that tongue in cheek, he is a heck of a guy)

Absolutely true.

Some can be very difficult to house-train though, and not all are as faithful as your dog.
