Why does ANY thing happen? Why are we here? Why do things die? Sometimes good things happen to bad people.
But who is worthy of defining if another is good or bad? Does having a belief in a higher being make you better than those that do not? Why do good things happen to atheists?
The three major monotheistic religions claim each is being persecuted by the other, but at the same time thank their unseen, higher entity for all the good things that have happened in its name.
In the end, we are all just shadows and dust. Unless you've made a point of benefiting your fellow human beings, you've done absolutely nothing. In that case, no one should care if good or bad things happen to anyone at all.

Because bad things happen due to certain circumstances, sometimes within our control, sometimes outside or our control. A few years ago, my family experience the terrible loss. A dear baby died from SIDS. It was devastating. I think, all in all, we are good people. Why did this happen? Could have been genetics, could have been something undetected at birth. Who knows? It doesn't really matter why unless it is something you could have controlled, like a DUI or being arrested for a crime. Often, the most random tragic things happen to very good people. Also, very good things happen to evil people. I just hope you can get through what you have challenging you. I am thinking of you and hoping things will improve for you. Sincerely.

Ask yourself why do good things happen to bad people? Does this not send out the idea to children that you have to be bad to get the good stuff?
I've no answer for it, only a very bad past to account for. I suppose that means I'm a good person...

I think that bad things happen to good people because I shows other people that anything can happen to anyone. I think we will never be dealt something that we cant deal with. I think there is always a reason behind everything. I believe that it will only make them stronger and maybe wiser.

Bad things happen to everybody not just good people. When something bad does happen (to someone you believe is good) it's because everybody truly believes that some things just happen to everyone else.
No real theory, just the facts of life.

I think things happen in cycles. All of a sudden a bunch of bad things happen, you learn to deal with them, and then move on. Good things happen too, so don't forget to acknowledge them. Basically, you learn a lesson from an event and learn how to apply it successfully in life. It makes you a stronger and better person.

Because it's called life. Bad things happen to good people and sometimes not too often, good things happen to bad people.
Karma is something that can't be explained to someone, it's something that you have to define yourself.
Many people may say "Oh God does this, and God does that" but really.. it's just life.

Bad things happen to good people, as well as good things happen to bad people. There no favoritism....I think we just feel worse, when we see a good person, have to go through a tough experience.

Bad things happen to everyone.. It is how you react, grow and learn from these bad things that make you a good person.

Because bad things happen to people in reality, and 'good' people live in the real world whilst 'bad' people choose to be 'bad'
