Housing prisoners in tents in the desert, holding innocent people in prison wards, when their only crime is being sick? Women's chain gangs? Smoking is forbidden as are coffee, salt, pepper and ketchup; reading material is monitored; there are no movies nor is any recreation provided; unrestricted television is banned. Should a prisoner need to see a nurse he or she must pay $10 for the privilege.

Is this where our fearful leader got his ideas from? Can I get a seig heil from anyone?

these people are there awaiting trial and can't make bail, or are sentenced to less than one year in jail. Real hard time convicts. Think about that on your way back from happy hour tonight

Scary situation, I agree. I don't get the point on a ban on ketchup, coffee, salt and pepper though. I can see why cigs are forbidden, I did a clinical rotation at a Mental Hospital and was told they do this to decrease fights and theft. It actually make sense. However, to add to your statement, they just passed a provision in my city to where a cop can stop you for no reason but to check your registration, ID and to "check" if you have been drinking. That is ludicrous! You can be obeying the law, driving correctly and get stopped. THAT is the start of a new police state.

Not here!!
They are in jail for commiting crimes, not being sent to club med!! I don't think that being sent to jail shoud mean that they should be given a free pass to comfort and pampering!

If you want to conduct criminal activity I would not recommend Maricopa County, Arizona.

I do not bleed for those who commit crimes. I do for their victims and victims' families.

All of which has been upheld by the courts in multiple appeals.
Do the crime, do the time. It's jail.

you can't get a seig heil from me, but i would say that kind of thing is completely unacceptable and unconstitutional.
