Guilty as charged. When I broke up with my high school sweet heart after 2 years of dating, I got into a rebound relationship that lasted close to a year. I am older and wiser now and have been happily married since 1994.

Yes, being too young , stupid, eager to please and not wanting to upset, I have..and I certainly did not want to marry this person. I stayed because I felt pity, sympathy etc for that person who was extremely fond of me.
Needless to say it ended up as a right disaster. Will spare the details.
Not something I would recommend at all.....staying with one person because they want you to but you don't...I was really silly and very immature at the time too..

No, I have had a long-term platonic friendship, but I don't consider that dating.

you never know where something may lead...so i don't think i would date someone for any length of time that i would not at least consider making that kind of commitment to...i don't mind casual dating...but i just wouldn't be "exclusive" with someone unless there was a chance for a future there.
