Yes, I agree. Children need better supervision, and adults need to raise their children better.

what are you asking this is a statement more a less but that wont help none anyway THE parents have to step in on this one and make sure what their kids are doing they do have it where if the parent steps in they can put a lock on myspace and it prevents them from putting in certain information on there and the parents can put a lock on you can see it and you can not. SO more or less the system is not flawed but the parenting skills of these children they are not being supervised enough and they should be.

I have a myspace and first of all i'm very protective of myself. In fact my profile is set to private so only those i allow are able to read my info. I only allow my friends that i know in person to see it. I also don't put any personal info. on there. It just depends on the person. alot of my friends don't care. I know one time one of my friends was bored so she posted a bulletin saying to call her and she gave her phone number out. Which was a dumb idea but some people aren't worried about stuff like that. I am though. I kind of some what think that there are many people out there that aren't aware of what can really happen. i also think there are a few careless parents. i've seen 13 year olds on there giving out any info. they want. I think they need more education about safety on the internet. But that's just my own opinion. plus myspace is the only place i still have contact with friends that moved out of state.
It just seems like one of those things where people think it won't happen to them. I used to think ooohhh no one i know will ever be murdered or raped. well lol i got my wake up call cause someone i know was almost raped and it made me open my eyes and think wow i need to protect myself. There not going to learn until something happens which is ashame. It's good to see that ur concerned like that.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but really think about it. To actually be on MySpace you have to be 16 or 18 or older whatever. Kids lie about their age and when they are really 13 they say they are 21. So now think about your quetion how is MySpace supposed to seperate children from adults?

R u kidding. Myspace will not have anything to do w/ what goes on inside of it. They think that they are getting alot of ppl to join and using their svcs, that's all that matters to them. I agree, yes! it is way too overrated and kids or teens should not be on it, but I doubt Myspace will handle this in no manner what-so-ever. Sad, actually. The whole reason why I DO NOT LIKE MYSPACE....

I agree with you, but I don't think the adults and young people can be separated. I think the parents should monitor what their children are doing.
I blame the parents. Also, I think young people shouldn't be so wrapped up on the computer. They need to get involved in other things.

i think people should stick to the golden rule, do not give out personal information. but i think myspace is this safe haven for meeting old friends. i met alot of school friends thru myspace in the 3 months i've been using it. however i do NOT nor have i ever given out my address. i just went to my high school's site.

The children are separated from the adults, everyone under 16 (or is it 18 now?) automatically have their profiles set to private.
Regardless of age, people are going to be doing that. They just need to be educated and actually realize the dangers.

I totally agree. I've seen phone numbers, complete names, addresses, where they're going to be this Saturday, etc.
They need to create a kid-friendly MySpace site (in addition to the regular one)

It's a mistake on the users' part, because MySpace does warn against giving out too much information. Therefore, it is because of the user's ignorance that he/she gives out his/her personals.

Todays kids should be internet savvy. They should know not to put their addresses and phone numbers on the internet. If they do so anyway, I'd guess it's either bad parenting or the kids just don't give a damn and will do it anyway.
