Hi this really isnt a question but i just wanted to share, i saw some people ask about breast reductions and i just had one in Nov 06 and let me tell you that was the best thing i have ever did in my life i was a 44 DDD and i had back pain and my head hurt all the time and shoulders hurt and i kept getting a rash and believe it or not i even got a yeast infection under my breast and i was always sore and summers were the worse. But anyway insurances will cover them if you have all the symptoms i have listed and it is a very pricey surgery mine was 11,000 and our insurance paid all of it except for 400.00 and i would rather pay the 400 than the 11,000, anyway if someone would like to have anymore info please email me and i would love to help, Oh and also yes it did hurt but the pain was worth it. And one more thing my family was there for me the whole way during this because they knew how unhappy i was. Thanks for listening and have a great day.

Thankyou for sharing that. It's good to hear from others abnout breast reduction surgery. I am having mine done next Wednesday so YAY, I can't wait. I am only 21, 5'3 and have 34G breasts, so in other words I look stupid and like a bimbo :) I am being reduced to a 34D. I actually don't have hospital insurance ( it does not seem to be as popular in Australia as overseas) so my surgery is costing me AU $11,500 (nearly $10, 000 US) coming straight out of my pocket. I will get back $3000 from Medicare and Health Tax so it will only end up costing me around AU $8000, and I am pretty happy with that.

I also wanted to say that I too agree with Terri- I lost nearly 10 kilograms and my breasts grew from a 34E to a 34G so losing weight only works if your breasts are made up mainly of fat tissue, not solid breast tissue like mine.

I totally agree with you. I had mine February 20, 2006 and it was the best thing I have ever done!

I was a 38J and went to a 38C. I had severe back neck and shoulder pain, grooves in my shoulders, etc.

Mine was $8,000 that insurance paid 100% for, I only had to pay a $75 copay for the hospital visit.

It did not hurt me at all, I don't think I used more than two vicodin during my recovery.

My only regret is that I did not get it done sooner.

Congrats on your recovery!

TheGrit: I am slightly overweight by about 30 or so pounds. They did not require me to lose weight to be covered under insurance but some insurance companies will want you to lose weight before they approve it. Oh and working out did not help me lose any in the breast like some people on here say can happen.

I'm curious if you were overweight before hand. The only reason I ask is because I have the same breast size, but I am overweight.

It's great that you had a wonderful story to share. Personally, I'm very happy with my breasts, and I'd rather exercise and eat right to see if the weight helps with the pain. But I will consider your story once I lose the weight and if I'm still having back problems. Thanks!

I had my done in 2000 when I was 18 years old. My medicaid paid for mine, do to the fact that they said mine was a medical emergancy. I tried to have mine done since I was 15 years old. I got real bead headaches and back and neck pain. So they did the surgery, the only problem if didn't help my pain. I still have it.
