Steve Yzerman, hands down. Superior player, loved by his teammates, gentleman to the core. Steve is one of the best ambassadors hockey could have. He was simply wonderful to watch develop from the first season with the RedWings. Great player, strong opponent on the ice, no scandal attached to him at any level. Polite to the fans, an all round good man. I was sorry to see him retire. Just a die hard RedWings fan, always have been always will be.

Steve Yzerman was one of the most humble players to ever play the game. He never thought of himself as one of the best ever even in his last couple seasons when he was passing Gordie Howe's records he always said that he was beating records because of the teammates that he had not because of his own skill. He always looked to compliment others on thier skill before his own and he was just an all around player. Always helping on defense espeicially in the last couple years of him playing. He always played with his heart and had great passion for the game of hockey...just look at 2002 when he was supposed to have surgery on his knee during the playoffs, but he told the doctors that his team needed him and he wanted to be there for them so he played with a bad leg and kept fighting for loose pucks and setting up and scoring goals. Where else could you find a player like that.

Gretzky, hands down.
When he came to L.A. in 1988 I took people to games that I thought could care less about Hockey.
While maybe only 5% of players could see everyone on the ice and what they were doing, Gretzky was way above even that level. He would thow the puck into an area, from the stands I would ask "what did he do THAT for?" and suddenly somebody had a breakaway.
Honorable mentions to Butch Goring, Dave Taylor, Bryan Trottier, and Rogie Vachon.

Probably Mike Bossy. Very classy guy who could win a few games for ya. Honorable mention Steve Yzerman & Mark Messier. I think every team in the league would benefit greatly from any one of these players on their team.

a million.Steven Stamkos 2. No, my widespread group is the Hurricanes and Jeff Skinner is my widespread participant. 3. Steven Stamkos is my widespread because of the fact he continually seems to be scoring potential play objectives. That ability and stat line is underrated in the NHL. Jeff Skinner is my widespread because of the fact he replaced into only 18 years previous on the commencing up of the season and replaced into nevertheless a dynamic element of the group the two for 5 on 5 and powerplay circumstances.

Shjon Podein! Not the best player in the league, but he played hard every night. He probably wouldn't have been able to do too well with new rule changes, but who knows.

Mario Lemiuex. In my opinion he is the greatest ever to play Gretzky only got injured once in his hole career because had goons that would kill you if you touched him. Lemiuex played injured his hole career, never played a full year, came back from cancer, came back from a broken back, HE SCORED 199 POINTS IN 70 GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! imagine if he had guy to portect him and played a full career. next i would have to take Mike Bossy the most natural goal scored ever to lace em up. also lots of injuries also over came them but retired after only 9 years and over 500 goals. And Marcel Dionne was just plain untouchable.
