You either join 'em, or avoid 'em. We are a social species. We stick together in groups, usually, b/c we can all help each other.
But basic economics says that we can't spend all of time and energy (and moeny, if we're human) on EVERY member, so we cast others out (and they cast us out) and COMPETE.
So, we kind of all end up working out our groups based on whom we can love and forgive, and who is just costing us too much emotional energy, etc. The group kind of falls into place along who it takes sides with, or keeping in touch with both sides but at different times.
Furhter:
Love= able to trust, mostly.
Hate= wary, unable to trust again.
We predict future outcomes sometimes on very basic emotions that are instinctual and were once the only way pre-humans and humans knew how to determine who's on our side or not. Now that we can THINK, this doesn't seem to make sense. BUt remember, these parts of the brain and body are much older than the frontal, human brain, and are going to take maybe forever to undo and overcome.
And who says that going on instinct is ultimately so bad anyway?

As a man cannot survive without food similarly a heart cannot survive love and hate.
Hate is the hunger for love. More hate more u can love.
Now if u have feelings in ur heart then these are deffinately essentials.

Love is one of the basic staples. But hate just comes about as frustration from not getting one's way. Childish, immature, and the root of all evil.

The only true basic in life is eating. Yes, food is the secret to life.

Everything else is learned, and therefore can be unlearned. The only nature (basic) thing in life is survival, and the base of survival is eating (food)
=)

There is a reason behind everything. To hate a person suggests that either you still care about him/her, or s/he is so annoying you just can't stop hating him/her.
Love and hate is all around us, whether you like it or not.

As a basic and simplified rule of thumb I think it is. Some people are going to love you and some are not...this is sometimes extended into things like racism, xenophobia, and other '-phobias' and '-isms'.

I prefer the L-word.

I think the basics for life would be to think and be aware.
Actually I'm not quite sure what it is you're asking exactly.

Love, yes. It's all about love.

Hate...not so much.

The basics of life is to continually create and seek joy.

Yes, it is the basis of life.

Love is the foundation

"Choice" is the "freedom" to choose

Anything that is not good is evil (hate)

Good = Love

Not good = evil
