I will be there from jan to june, and may tour europe from helsinki. Is there anything interesting that I can and HAVE to do there? How is school life there? And how is the hostel room and life like? Do share! Both students from hse as well as people who stay in Helsinki! =)

Lucky you! That is a good school, and I love Finland. Know that it will be COLD when you arrive. Expect school life to be less social, and more academic, than you might face in the U.S. You will probably also need to show more responsibility, since in most of Europe, students aren't required to go to class, but get tested on what happened there. Sorry I can't tell you much about student life, since the people I have known there have mostly been faculty.

i love helsinki! you should take the silja line/viking line ferry to the åland islands, it's a beautiful ride and the islands are really nice!
