Newt made this insensitve remark referring to his first wife. That was back in the 80's, I believe. As I said before, he needs to go away. He lost all credibility with the news of his affair.

Dr House...the wikopedia piece you quote is a hit piece that has been thouroughly debunked and has NEVER been given credence by anyone other than the loony fringe leftists - it simply never happened.
(It was the bitter statements of a disgruntled ex-employee that you are referencing.)
BTW - the manufactured quote was supposedly said regarding his ex-wife...about 10 years BEFORE Mrs Edwards announcment.
I am not a big Newt supporter, but the trash some of you people spew on these sites is truely reprehensible.
For the record NO ONE ever said those hateful things about Mrs Edwards, and I defy the author of this question to provide a link where anyone did.
There are enough FACTUAL situations to debate...why do you clowns insist on inventing non - events just to irritate people.. what a waste of time!.

valuable the Cons are a team of hypocrites. the adult adult males cheat and lie. Their faith accepts something they do as long as they say they are conservative. Their sheep choose to grant them tax cuts and raise their taxes. they are consistently perfect even whilst they are incorrect. data are undesirable Propaganda is sweet. suits perfect in! the wealthy kings with separate regulations from their peasants! Freddie Mac to make funds is okay. What Newt or Mitt does is all Pbama's fault. all human beings gets it. So the objective is to thieve, lie, cheat, and harm others for earnings. i start perfect now! beware I even have permission to do what ever i choose as long as I say i'm conservative. i'm conservative.

Apparently some are saying that Gingrich said this . I would really like to see the entire comment or comments , but for the sake of agreement I'll answer as if he did .
If Newt said that , AND did not clarify in a reasonable way , then I'd have to say that I'd never vote for him . And I am a Conservative !!
Now how many times have you seen a Democrat make a similar , logical , honest , and unbiased admission like this ?
And wouldn't it be 'just great' to see it more often ?!?!?!

Newt did... about his own wife...
"In 1962, Gingrich married Jackie Battley, his former high school geometry teacher, when he was 19 years old; she was seven years his senior at 26 years old.[5] [6] Jackie raised their two daughters, worked to put Newt through graduate school and was a loyal political wife.[7] Gingrich and Battley divorced in 1980. Battley has charged that Gingrich discussed the terms of their divorce settlement while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery.[8] According to L.H. Carter, his campaign treasurer, Newt said of Battley: "She's not young enough or pretty enough to be the wife of the President. And besides, she has cancer."[9] Newt has vigorously denied saying anything like this and his staff has stated that L. H. Carter was a disgruntled employee left behind in Georgia. [10] He refused to pay alimony or child support.[11] His hometown First Baptist Church had to take up a collection to support the family.[12] Newt's younger daughter, Jackie Gingrich Zyla, refuted much of the above by saying, "My dad has always stood behind and supported me and my sister in everything we have done," she said. "We care about our father, and he cares about us." [13]"

A thoughtless person. Though I personally John Edwards should make his wife a priority. I know she says she wants him to go forward but............Who knows what lies down the road for her and she will need him by her side. And their children will need him too.
He is young enough to run in 2012.
