To be sucessful at using a Temp Agency...

You need a major company, not a minor.....
(this will help you get acess to the "better" jobs. The temp agencies have to sell themselves to the companies you work for. The better companies use agencies with "reliable reputations/employees" For the same reason, so should you!)

Second, you need an experienced "handler"...
Otherwise, you won't get good matches/assignments....

(The experienced handler will put you with good fits. < If you're with a smaller company they won't have a lot for you to choose from. > You will also get warnings ahead of time if you're taking something that might not be best for you...for the money. Try to build a relationship with your handler so that they know who you are. An experienced handler will understand what you are doing and appreciate the gesture as it helps them do thier job in placing you.)

had some good thoughts...

But remember, temp jobs are temporary, they rarely lead to regular employment. It sounds more like you want an employment agency to get something more reliable. If you use a larger employment agency, they will have both temp and perm placement. I think that will make you happier (your question was a bit short :) )

You also, didn't give a region for your search....

So try this yellow pages search for sources......

I really hope I helped......

Depends on the type of work you are looking for. Remember they are temp agencies and use employees on as needed basis to fill request. They will give you a shot and you have to deliver the plus side of temp agencies is that you will possibly go to new place often so your people skills must be superb your work location for the day gives feedback to the temp agency and decides if they want you to come back or not. First impressions are key when you work temp agencies and you have to deliver with superb job performance.

Oh yes. I have tried, and my present job is through a temp agency. They are doing a wonderful job - atleast in my city - the company name is ProStaff. I tried other agencies, and yes, some were useful, others simply weren't. Some work well, others don't. But what I have also noticed is that although it also depends on work available, if they think you could be a star employee, they will work well for you. Do really well on their tests, and always be really well dressed when you see them, also be professional in your behavior, and the rest will take care of itself. Stay on top of things by being in touch with them regularly. U never know, you might call one day, and a job might be available for you right on the spot. It's a good idea to try several agencies at a time in my opinion. Counting on one to call you, could be risky as you could be waiting forever. Goodluck! Not all agencies are a waste of time. Keep trying...and keep doing your best...you will find a good one.

Currently I am a temp, and there is a downsize to temping. They always put me on the waiting list. It isn't every week that the temp agencies will have a "job" for me, so I do call in availability on Mondays. If you have been waiting for approximately 6 months after you registered for one agency and do call in availabilities, then move on. There has to be a "job" out there there that I am qualified to do, so it isn't all that glamorous.I am not "working", I am collecting unemployment. It is tough out there if you don't have that much work experience. But if you have a lot, you still have to "know" somebody who can refer you to their company where that person work at. so, the bottom line is that try other agencies. Don't give up unless you can land your dream job on your own. That is the way it is in todays job market.

I personally had no problems with the tem agencies... Only had 3 positions and they were in the area I requested and had the pay I wanted... I would say it was okay except I would have liked the job to last longer but that's why you are working for a temp agency... So I really can't say anything bad.....

I'm working for one right now, and I am finding it to be a good experience. They hooked me up with a job that meets my skill level and salary requirements, and until the company hires me on themselves, the agency pays me once a week, which is cool. The one drawback is having no health insurance right now, but it's OK. I think going through a temp agency is much easier than trying to go out there and find a new job by yourself, and you get a new job a lot quicker.

I worked for temp agency for 2 years until I decided to go back to school. The temp agency was Kelly Temporary Services. I worked for several different companies and was exposed to several different working environments. The last time I worked through them was 10 years ago. I found the experience I got to be very valuable. In fact, the current position I have with my employer was because of the experience I had from one of my assignments. I liked working with them enough to where I have submitted my resume to them each time I was laid off from a permanent employer.

About 12 or so years ago I did and I hated it. Around here they advertised how convenient it was, that you could be placed at a job and if you didn't like it you could change until you found a job that suited you. Well, the 3 temp companies I worked for in a 9 month period were all the same. When they placed me for a job and I didn't like it or wanted to try something else, they all gave me grief about the trouble they went through to place me and how I couldn't just go somewhere for 1 day and decide I didn't like it. I hated it!

I have worked both sides of this problem. The agency's can't find jobs that will work with my school sched. (college) and when I have to hire someone they don't really want to work or just don't show up, it's a double edged sword.

no might desire to think of u have been the problem. temporary assignments are basically that and don't unavoidably might desire to run to the tip of the term. There might desire to be 'n' style of the clarification why the situation replace into terminated. in step with danger an inner worker have been given the job and the business corporation recommended your enterprise that they did no longer choose ur centers; they now and back cite getting to understand as an excuse basically so as that the enterprise won't computer virus them anymore; companies do no longer choose to argue on behalf of the guy who replace into enable pass (no count what the clarification) as a results of fact they choose persevering with corporation with the shopper. basically overlook approximately it and pass on. No factor attempting to check the situation. good success and ur next seek.
