Okay I have something to say, I think it's my right to wear fur, I have a friend that says "Oh! No you shouldn't wear that!" I can if I want I told him and I'll continue to do so, and the thing is that most people don't realize is that the same animals we kill, are the same animals that kill us back if they're wild and crazy... So what are your thoughts on this? Please don't flame me or anything.

I mean this is still legal, just like abortion and killing of unborn babies is still legal... A lot of people protest against animal cruelty, yet the part I don't get is they accept abortion to be the right thing to do? Am I'm a missing something here?

I want some answers from everyone's point of view on this, without getting so riled up and angry. Convince me why this is so wrong, because in my culture it's more acceptable, and I guess I grew up thinking it was just a normal way of life because I was told that my ancient ancestors survived wearing fur. I can't see what's so wrong.

Your ancestors may have worn fur , but it was taken in a respectful manner with prayer and thanksgiving. The fur was not raised in a factory farm under harsh and cruel conditions and "harvested" in as cruel a manner with no respect to the animal. Also , they wore fur because it was about the only thing TO wear, they couldn't go to the Gap.
Chances of you being killed or even attacked by a "wild and crazy" animal is so small, that is only a rationalization.
Not all abortion believers are against wearing fur and all fur wearers are abortion believers. There is a wide spectrum of belief. So ,this too is an invalid argument.
I think you should go back and study how your ancestors lived. See if there is an old one around who can teach you of the old ways. You may learn more respect for the animals and all of your other relatives on the planet as well.

I don't wear fur but only because it isn't what my generation of men did. I do however hunt and have eaten, squirrel, rabbit, duck, pheasant, coon, bear, moose, deer, muskrat. I use the food from the animal and since I make knives, I will use antlers material also and sinew.

Anyone out there wearing Gucci shoes? Or how about any leather products? I would think if you are against fur, which is hide with hair on it, why wear anything made of leather. The fake stuff looks just like it and it's just as good. There is no law against fur so why not wear it? I don't like cruelty in obtaining any of the above but remember that each side is only an opinion. So don't force opinions on anyone.

I don't understand why people will protect animals but not babies??? I don't get it, I like fur, I think fur is really pretty, just as long as you don't look like a walking cotton ball when you're wearin' a fur coat its cool :-) That is what God made some animals for, to keep us warm, to feed us, and the only animals I protect are dogs because they're for companions. But I'm not taking the side of a dog over a person.
(Wow, thats a long question you got there)

A fetus is NOT a CONSCIOUS being with a SOUL. Hunted animals are more like humans than a fetus and the feel. There simply IS no excuse to SLAUGHTER these animals to make CLOTHING. You can not have a conscience and condone this butchery.

Now slaughtering them for FOOD is another story because the food is a necessary commodity HOWEVER there is a growning movement of VEGANS who will not accept this anymore and do not eat any meat or dairy. If i was man enough I'd start ding it as well.

I would be deeply ashamed to wear an animal skin, it is BARBARIC

Personally, I think that the only people who should be wearing fur are the people who live in cold climates and fur is their only way to stay warm. Otherwise, it is barbaric.
So you are saying foxes and raccoons and rabbit would kill a human in the wild? Not likely.
I am pro-choice when it comes to abortion and fur and all that - do what you want...but I won't take part in that stuff.
Check out this website - please watch all the videos - it might give you a different perspective on how fur is produced...--->

We are all apart of the food chain. Man is on top. God wants us to utilize these animals in a sensible fashion in order to thrive and survive. Since the beginning man has killed animals for meat (bodies need protein) and animal skin for clothes and shelter. Now, I do find it offensive when animals are abused for no reason. I.E. hunting, killing the creature w/ cruelty for the sole purpose of fur or just plain abuse. This is not right and I think that's where people should concentrate regulations.

I was going to say, it depends on your culture and what was once a sensible way to protect oneself from the elements. I think the prejudice against furs began with super stars who showed off in their leopards and lions or rather minks. I think that's the shameful beginning of the righteous outrage it eventually evolved in to. It links into the same vain concept that giving birth to a tiny and completely defenseless human is not convenient right now so kill it and get it out of there, I have more important things to do with my life than help that helpless little mistake. I read somewhere that aborting is the ultimate act of child abuse.

we were created to survive with survuival instincts just as everythin alive is, animals kill other animals to better themselves, and in the prosses the other animals are forced to get smarter to survive. I am a servival of the fittest person, but not to the point of arogant waste of what nature provides. I see it as a choice in the end of wearing the furs, keeping myself warm, employing a craftsman, ect rather than letting the maggots eat it, when the animals die.
