Do you mean stripped? Or do you mean scoring on the cylinder wall? If it is scored, it will burn oil and you will lose compression i.e power. If so, you will need to have the cylinder rebored and the cause of the scoring remedied, probably a broken piston ring.

Do you mean scored - a groove from top to bottom? If so, off to the machine shop for their evaluation on whether it can be bored out and rebuilt.
