Remember men are from Mars and women are from Venus. He didn't mean it the way you are taking it, although it's understandable that it upset you. It was a poor choice of words, but he's proud to have you as his wife because you're a looker, and that's just one reason. Give him a break, IMO.

*Why are you offended? It is a compliment.
*At least he didn't say "This is my *****."
~I think you are making a big deal over nothing, he was simply saying you're beautiful...etc. like a um...lol...showpiece.
.So why are you so offended over a compliment?
*Wow....some women are so funny, you blow the dumbest things out of proportion, and take offense to everything.
.Guys have their own language, and how they describe things etc. so while you (as a female) would expect him to say "This is my beautiful wife." HE thinks differently (as a guy) and maybe he's a jokster, or really just thinks you are a showpiece and so he calls it how he see's it?!
~~Either way, you just need to lighten up...and no read into silly comments like that so much. Because ya sure you may be a "showpiece" but if you keep up w/ the attitude and act all offended everytime he says something like that, you can be the hottest wife....but your attitude makes you ugly.
**So quit being so damn uptight. Take a compliment. **

From his point of view it was a compliment. Men and women think so differently. Sounds to me like he is proud of you and loves having you by his side.
I think you took it way to personal. Instead of seeing it as the compliment it was you are trying to take offense to it.
Instead of getting upset maybe you could calmly and lovingly explain to him that you appreciate his compliment and then let him know why it made you feel so upset and let him know other ways he can compliment you.

Of course it's a compliment. It's complimenting your looks. Look at it from his perspective. He is proud of his attractive looking wife. Now if you are upset that he puts attractiveness as a high priority....I would say let it go. Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill.

I don't uinderstand this really my husband calls me his show piece cause he is very proud of me as I am of him. To some men its like look my wife is beautiful showing you off really. Better than some men would do.

Tell him next time he needs to balance that compliment out: mention something about you that is non-physical.
Might want to explain to him that you like to know he married you because he loves you for the PERSON you are, not the body you inhabit.

Let him know that it may have been a compliment but only an ape would regard it as one. A true gentleman would consider it crude.

Well to some women for her husband to give them a complliment like that it means that his wife is beautiful and he wants to show her off to everyone to see. But to a woman's ear it hears that your husband thinks yuor just a trophy that he has acquired. But give your husband a break it's not his fault you don't bragg about him to your friends like he does to his.

Sounds to me like he just labeled you as his trophy wife. Don't let him get away with that, that is no compliment that is actually an insult..
